Frequently Asked Questions
Qigong (also spelled Qi Gong, Chi Kung or Chi Gong) is a gentle movement practice rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine. It combines mindful movement, breathwork, and stillness to support physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. It’s suitable for all ages and abilities, and is often used as a form of meditation, low-impact exercise, and stress relief.
These Qigong classes are ideal for adults of all ages, especially beginners in Norfolk and Norwich, including surrounding villages like Poringland and Wymondham. Whether you're looking to reduce stress, improve mobility, sleep better, or reconnect with your breath and body, you're welcome here.
Qigong supports a wide range of health needs. It may help with low back pain, neck pain, arthritis, musculoskeletal conditions, fibromyalgia, cardiovascular health, high blood pressure, chronic pain, and stress-related symptoms. It also promotes better sleep, body awareness, and emotional balance.
Not at all. Qigong is accessible whether you are standing, seated, or have limited mobility. Many people attend with chronic conditions or are new to any kind of movement. Classes are adapted to suit your energy and physical ability.
Classes take place at Poringland Community Centre on Wednesdays and SunFyr Barns in Framingham Pigot, just 15 minutes from Norwich city centre. The venue includes free parking, a peaceful garden, and an on-site café — creating a calm and supportive environment for your practice.

Qigong and Tai Chi share similarities but are different practices. Qigong tends to be simpler, more accessible, and easier for beginners. It’s excellent for those seeking stress relief, gentle movement, or support for health and healing.

Wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. You can practise barefoot, in grippy socks, or in flat-soled shoes. Bring a bottle of water and, in cooler months, dress in layers so you stay comfortable.
